Tamilnadu MBBS Admission 2013 – Application Issue Date

Tamilnadu MBBS Admission 2013 – Tamilnadu Government has announced the Tamilnadu MBBS Admission 2013 – Application Issue Date. Application for MBBS and BDS will be issued from May 9th onwards. Application will be issued till May 18th.

Application will be issued in all 18 Government Medical Colleges.

Filled up application form should be submitted on or before May 20th.
Presently 40,000 applications are printed and ready for distribution.

Previously in the year,

2010 – 22,000 applications were issued for Tamilnadu MBBS Admission.

2011 – 25,000 applications were issued

2012 – 27,877 applications were issued.

Counselling dates will be announced later

Tamilnadu Government will announce the counselling date only after the declaration of Plus two results.

Last year Counselling was started from July 5th 2012.
No of Seats may be increased this year

Last year 200 seats were increased. Indian Medical Council Officers inspect all the Medical Colleges in Tamilnadu. Based on this chances are there to increase no of medical seats this year.
Eligibility Criteria for Tamil Nadu Medical and Dental Admission.
Nativity

Candidate should be a Citizen of India and should be a Native of Tamil Nadu
Candidates who have studied from VIII to XII standards in schools in Tamil Nadu need not enclose the Nativity Certificate
Candidates who are native of TamilNadu but studied from VIII to XII Std either partly or completely in schools situated outside Tamil Nadu should produce the Nativity Certificate.
Applications without a proper Nativity Certificate will not be considered.
Permanent Residence Certificate will not be accepted.

Age Limit

Should have completed the age of Seventeen years on or before 31st December 2012.
Educational Qualifications for Tamilnadu Medical Admission

Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other equivalent Board in one and the same attempt in the following group of subjects with the minimum eligible marks. Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology or Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject. A failure in examination or reappearance or first appearance in compartment in one or more subjects will be treated as an attempt.
Minimum Eligibility Marks for MBBS
Other Communities OC

A minimum of 60% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
A minimum of 60% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry.
Aggregate percentage of marks in (a) and (b) should not be less than 140 out of 200 marks.

Backward Class BCs and Backward Class Muslim BCMs

A minimum of 60% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
A minimum of 60% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry.
Aggregate percentage of marks in (a) and (b) should not be less than 130 out of 200 marks.

Most Backward Classes MBCs and Denotified Communities

A minimum of 55% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
A minimum of 55% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry.
Aggregate percentage of marks in (a) and ( b) should not be less than 120 out of 200 marks .

Scheduled Castes SCs, Scheduled Caste – Arunthathiyar SCAs, Scheduled Tribes ST

A minimum of 40% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
A minimum of 40% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry.
Aggregate percentage of marks in (a) and (b) should not be less than 80 out of 200 marks.

Physically Challenged Category

The candidates under Physically challenged Category of Locomotory disability of Lower Limbs alone, regardless of OC, BC, BCM, MBC or DC should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in each prescribed subject in the qualifying examination.
